Blevins Piano Tuning
ABOUT
For the past 10 years, Elise Blevins has serviced pianos throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. After attending the UC College - Conservatory of Music (CCM) for Oboe Performance, Elise served a 3 year apprenticeship with concert technician Nevin Essex, Her studies included tuning, repairing, regulating, voicing, and rebuilding piano actions. Elise is a contract tuner/action rebuilder for CCM.

Elise has passed the Piano Technicians Guild exams and holds the title of a Registered Piano Technician.​​ These exams show a desire for excellence, and consist of 2 rigorous examinations that test the technician's proficiency in tuning, regulation and repair.
Along with excelling at these examinations, Elise has also attended the Regulation and Touch Seminar at the Steinway Technical Academy, which is conducted at the Steinway & Sons Factory in New York City.
Elise did such an amazing job on my two pianos. I don't think the upright has ever been so in tune while I've owned it, though I've had it tuned three or four times. As for the larger Baldwin, it sounds way less muddled when playing, especially in the bass end. I cannot put in words how wonderful it has been to play over the past few days. There's a whole new character to my favorite pieces--thanks to Elise!

TUNING
When a piano hasn't been tuned annually, it drops drastically in pitch, and a standard tuning won't suffice. Situations like this require a pitch raise, which is much more laborious than a standard tuning. A pitch raise is multiple tunings in 1, and the goal is to get the piano stabilized at or near A440 Hz.
Standard Tuning ($155) - 0-4 Hz flat (typically tuned within the last 3 years).
Small Pitch Raise ($195) - 5-12 Hz flat (typically tuned within the last 4 years).
Average Pitch Raise ($205) - 13-20 Hz flat (typically tuned within the last 5-10 years).
Large Pitch Raise ($215) - 21-28 Hz flat (typically tuned within the last 10-20 years).

CLEANING $80
Elise will remove dirt and dust from underneath the strings and inside the piano.
REPAIRS
Whether the piano needs help with sticky keys, a broken string, or pedal issues, this service will get the piano back in great shape. Elise charges $30 per 30 minutes.
During the last few weeks, Ms. Elise Blevins has evaluated the needs of my Baby Grand Steck piano and given it expert care. She is a lovely person--kind, generous, soft-spoken, talented, and professional. She is a tireless worker with an expert knowledge of pianos. I am beyond grateful for her help.

SHOP WORK - REBUILDING THE ACTION
Elise is our new go-to tuner! She arrived on-time, was quick and professional, and did a fantastic job. We called around looking for piano tuners when we moved to Cincinnati, and Elise was the quickest with her response, scheduling, and pricing. GLEN ESTE CHURCH WORK

I tuned 3 pianos, fixed a squeaky pedal, and did some regulating (hammer blow distance and spacing) at the First Baptist Church of Glen Este today!
